KJ supports Nurul Izzah for PKR deputy presidency

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin says that he fully supports Nurul Izzah Anwar's bid for PKR's deputy presidency.

"Nurul Izzah is no longer the Puteri Reformasi (Reformasi Princess) she was in her 20s. She is 44 and a three-term MP, and to say she is riding on her family's coat-tails is not true, as she has been around for some time and done good work in Parliament.

"She is dedicated to public policy issues and multidimensional poverty, and I want to say that if she wins, she wins, that's my view," said the former health minister on Instagram.

Khairy added that "this is not somebody who came out of nowhere, and I am sure people will bring up the issue of optics."

He said that Nurul Izzah is not someone from off the streets but someone with her own record.

Nurul Izzah is vying for the deputy presidency against Economy Minister and incumbent Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
