Olympic shuttler Goh Liu Ying welcomes second child

FORMER mixed doubles shuttler and Olympic silver medallist Goh Liu Ying (pic) has welcomed her second child on Tuesday, Sin Chew Daily reported.

She announced the birth in a social media post.

Goh, best known for her partnership with shuttler Chan Peng Soon, gave birth to her first child, a boy, on National Day in 2023.

Goh and Chan were consistently ranked among the top 10 mixed-doubles pairs in the world.

They reached a career high in 2012, after being ranked as world number three and won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The pair announced their split in December 2021 after 13 years of playing together.

Goh tied the knot with a businessman in 2023.

A staff at the veterinary clinic where the feline was treated confirmed that the cat’s condition deteriorated on Tuesday morning.

Despite two hours of emergency treatment, the cat succumbed to its injuries, an employee said.

Nine diners who were enjoying themselves at an open-air hotpot restaurant in Chongqing, were scalded by the hot soup when the cat fell into the pot from the second floor.

Although none of the customers were seriously injured, the cat, suffered burns and abrasions on all four legs, along with fractures.
