Hawk fighter jet suffered landing gear issues while landing, says Air Force


PETALING JAYA: An Air Force Hawk fighter jet suffered landing gear issues while landing at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Alor Setar, Kedah.

In a statement, the Air Force said the incident occurred at 5pm on Tuesday (May 6) when the pilot was carrying out an exercise for the "opening gambit" of the Langkawi International Maritime Exhibition (LIMA '25) taking place later in May.

It added that the aircraft experienced "nose landing gear" issues during landing.

The pilot escaped unhurt in the incident.

The Air Force also said a task force has been formed to investigate the cause of the incident.

Bernama later reported Malaysia Airports saying that the runway reopened at 8pm.
