Nominations for PKR central leadership posts postponed to streamline procedures, says Dr Zaliha

KUALA LUMPUR: Nominations for the 2025 PKR central leadership posts were postponed to streamline its procedures, says Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

The PKR central election committee chairman said that this was also done in view of recent amendments to the party's constitution.

“This (postponement) was a mutual decision by the committee and is part of our efforts to streamline preparations for the congress that will happen this May.

“With new amendments to the constitution, there is a lot of processes we need to do.

"That's why we needed more time to prepare and we are working with the secretary-general's office,” she said after the launch of Residensi Kecapi in Sentul Saturday (May 3).

Dr Zaliha added that the committee had met with international auditors over two to three days to review its election processes.

“We have given all they have requested for and hopefully will receive their report in the next few days.”

It was reported on Friday (May 2) that nominations for the 2025 PKR central leadership posts, including elections for the central leadership council, Angkatan Muda Keadilan and Wanita Pusat, which were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (May 3 and 4), had been postponed to May 8 and 9.
