Ramli Ngah Talib to take oath as new Penang Governor today


GEORGE TOWN: Tun Ramli Ngah Talib has arrived at Dewan Sri Pinang where he is scheduled to take oath as the ninth Yang di-Pertua Negri.

Earlier, the new Governor arrived at Dewan Sri Pinang at about 8.30am accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Datuk Raja Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah.

The ceremony started with Ramli inspecting the guard of honour mounted by the Second Battalion of the Malay Regiment which comprises three officers and 103 soldiers led by Major Mohd Salleh Jamal before being paraded into the ceremonial hall.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10am.
