Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over 11 states until 6pm Wednesday


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds forecast in 11 states until 6pm Wednesday (April 23).

In a statement Wednesday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang (North, Central and South Seberang Perai), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor (Hulu Selangor and Gombak), and Johor (Mersing and Kota Tinggi).

In Sarawak, the area is Limbang while in Sabah, the areas affected are Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort and Tambunan), and West Coast (Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud).
