Ayer Kuning polls: BN aiming for strong support from fence-sitters

TAPAH: Barisan Nasional wants to get the support of voters from grey areas and fence-sitters in Ayer Kuning to ensure that it can achieve victory in the by-election, says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

He added that there are many fence-sitters in the constituency, consisting mainly of youths and first-time voters.

“They are the ones we need to get closer to.

“We need to explain to them issues that they may have playing in their minds or issues that are being exploited (by the Opposition).

“These voters are also looking at trending issues, so we need to explain these matters to them,” said Mohamad at a press conference during his visit to the Batu Tiga district polling station here yesterday.

“We cannot pretend to not knowing issues that are being played up here.

“They (voters) want to hear from us and they want to be certain before giving their mandate to the candidate of their choice,” he added.

Mohamad said Barisan will also try to meet as many voters as possible, especially Barisan supporters, to gauge the amount of support they can get.

He added that he will also hold more dialogues with Ayer Kuning constituents to hear their grievances.
