Thunderstorm warning issued for five states and Federal Territories


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in several areas across Malaysia, with warnings in effect until 5pm on Saturday, (April 5), says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In Perak, the districts of Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim are on alert.

Selangor, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, are also expected to experience severe weather.

In Negeri Sembilan, areas including Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau are under the warning.

In Sarawak, regions such as Kuching, Serian (Tebedu), Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Mukah, Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu, and Miri (Telang Usan) are forecasted to be affected.

In Sabah, the affected areas are Tawau (Lahad Datu) and Sandakan (Kinabatangan and Sandakan).
