Over 4,300 road accidents, 39 fatalities recorded nationwide on March 28 and 29


PETALING JAYA: There were 4,362 road accidents reported nationwide on Friday (March 28) and Saturday (March 29), say police.

According to statistics from the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, 2,322 accidents were reported on Friday and 2,040 on Saturday.

There were 39 fatalities recorded, with 32 on Friday and seven on Saturday.

On another issue, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said 6,800 police personnel would be on duty throughout the Hari Raya Aidilftiri period.

He said these officers would ensure smooth traffic flow for those driving home.

"For those travelling, always take precautions. Lives and safety are paramount.

"Remember, family members are waiting to celebrate with you, and we don't want any tragedy to occur," he said on social media in his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message.
