BANGKOK: A Malaysian journa­list based in Bangkok was having a typical Friday in the Thai capital when it quickly turned into a scene of terror.

From his office on the 23rd floor of Tai Ping Towers on Sukhumvit Road, Kenny Teng, who is from Penang, was working on an article when he suddenly felt slight tremors.
