‘Rambo’ traders clash with DBKL officers on Jln TAR

KUALA LUMPUR: A commotion involving several groups of individuals and enforcement officers from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) erupted on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here on Friday (March 28).

The incident, which went viral on social media, is believed to have been caused by actions taken by DBKL enforcement officers against individuals accused of trading without a licence at the location, reported Sinar Harian.

A video recording, believed to have been taken by a trader in the area, initially shows several DBKL enforcement officers seizing balloons being sold by an individual.

The commotion began when the trader involved was seen not cooperating and obstructing the actions of the DBKL officers.

At the same time, several other individuals, believed to be traders, also intervened, leading to the commotion.

Several comments on the post said that the firm action taken by DBKL was directed at unlicensed traders who had started to flood the area ahead of Aidilfitri.

The news portal has reached out to the police for confirmation regarding the incident.
