A SCENE akin to a nightmare unfolded on the Nanjing Metro in China recently when a passenger’s plastic bucket overturned, sending dozens of live eels wriggling across the carriage floor, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The incident occurred on Line 2 of the transit network, leaving passengers startled as the creatures wriggled through the train.

Videos shared online showed fellow commuters crouching down to catch the eels with their bare hands.

However, the slippery creatures repeatedly broke free, wriggling under the train seats.

While some passengers could be heard laughing on video, online onlookers questioned how live creatures had passed through the station’s security checks.

Nanjing Metro later clarified that fresh aquatic products must be fully sealed before passengers are allowed into stations.

> Fans of Taiwanese singer Selina Jen were given a rare glimpse into her family life after she was spotted in public recently, China Press reported.

The 44-year-old has reportedly made fewer public appearances and updated her social media less frequently since giving birth to her son, Little Cashew, in 2023.

Fans were delighted when Jen was recently spotted dropping Little Cashew off at kindergarten alongside her partner and their nanny.

After returning home, Jen headed out alone to a nail salon at 1.30pm.

Later that afternoon, she visited a health management centre for a workout before rounding off the evening at a new pickleball club with a friend, leaving at 9.30pm.

Fans noted that Jen engaged in two intense workout sessions during the day, squashing ongoing pregnancy rumours.

Addressing the pregnancy rumours previously, the singer neither confirmed nor denied them, maintaining that she would “let nature take its course”.

Jen rose to prominence in 2001 with the all-girl band S.H.E, which also comprised Ella Chen and Hebe Tien.
