PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob spent another day with graft investigators over an ongoing corruption and money laundering probe involving RM170mil.

Yesterday, the former prime minister spent six hours with Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers to have his statement recorded.

Ismail Sabri arrived at the MACC headquarters at 9am and was seen leaving the compound at around noon, believed to be for Friday prayers.

A vehicle carrying the Bera MP was seen entering the MACC compound at about 3.25pm.

The former prime minister left at about 5.42pm as members of the media braved the heavy rain to get his comments.

Neither he nor his legal team spoke to the press.

It is believed that Ismail Sabri will return for another round of questioning on Monday.

On March 3, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the former prime minister is a suspect in an investigation following the discovery of about RM170mil in cash at a safe house.

The cash, held in numerous currencies, was seized alongside 16kg of pure gold bars valued at nearly RM7mil.

As part of the probe, the MACC had frozen 13 bank accounts containing over RM2mil.
