GEORGE TOWN: Women striving for career success are set to benefit from a RM4.7bil funding allocated by various financial institutions to boost women entrepreneurship and economic participation, says Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying (pic).
She said the initiative was aimed at unlocking women’s potential and drive economic growth on top of enhancing childcare and elderly care facilities to help women with the duties for caring for their families.
“The government through small-medium enterprise facilities in banks has channelled the funds to help women operate micro, small and medium businesses.
“The Employees Provident Fund, also supports housewives under the age of 55 who are registered with e-Kasih, with a government contribution of 50% for every RM1 saved, up to RM300 per year and a lifetime limit of RM3,000,” she said.
