Man confesses to leaving bag of bullets at Bukit Jambul


GEORGE TOWN: The Criminal Investigation Department of the NorthEast district police has quickly solved the case of a bag containing bullets found at the Bukit Jambul complex.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad stated that a 46-year-old man admitted to leaving the bag at the location for disposal before later calling the police.

"According to the man, he found the bag of bullets when he was cleaning a house in 2024," said ACP Abdul Rozak in a statement on Wednesday (March 5).

"Further action is being taken by the George Town investigation team to confirm the statement by the witness.

With the suspect's confession, we managed to solve the case within 24 hours due to swift action," he added.

It was reported on Tuesday (March 4) that police were investigating a bag found containing a number of live and spent.22 calibre bullets.
