PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for swift action to restore the local white rice supply, says the Prime Minister’s senior press secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah.

In a statement issued during the PMO Daily Briefing, Tunku Nashrul said the Prime Minister acknowledged concerns about local white rice and instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to expedite recovery efforts.

"This issue remains a major concern in the country, and the recovery process is currently being implemented in phases.

"The Prime Minister has also directed the relevant ministries to provide continuous updates to the public regarding the progress of this supply recovery," Tunku Nashrul said.

The statement was released at 11am on Monday (March 3) on the official Facebook pages of both the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
