Four officers linked to Ismail Sabri detained by MACC


KUALA LUMPUR: Four officers connected to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob have been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Sources indicated that the officers were brought to the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court on Friday (Feb 21) for a remand application.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Irza Zulaikha.

Three officers were remanded for five days until Tuesday (Feb 25), while another individual was remanded for three days and released on Sunday (Feb 23).

When contacted, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 16a of the MACC Act.

"We hope the public can give the MACC space to conduct the investigation without any speculation," he said.
