MetMalaysia: Severe weather expected in several states until 6pm on Feb 16


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 6pm on Sunday (Feb 16).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 3.20pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu and Seremban) and Johor (Tangkak and Muar).

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu (Sebauh), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) dan Limbang as well as Sabah: Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Tambunan), West Coast (Papar, Putatan and Penampang), Tawau (Lahad Datu) and Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Labuan.
