Dept ordered to repair potholes

KOTA KINABALU: The state government has ordered the relevant department to repair potholes that pose a danger to road users, following the death of a father of three recently.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who issued the order, said the department must take immediate action on the matter.

He was commenting on an accident last week when Anthonius William, 38, of Penampang was killed when he was thrown off from his machine which hit a pothole on the Lido flyover here.

“This is something very unfortunate and sad. It should not happen again. We have ordered the department responsible to take this seriously and resolve these problems,” he told reporters at a Chinese New Year open house hosted by Parti Gagasan Rakyat’s Inanam division here yesterday.
