Pregnant woman, unborn child die in tragic accident in Kluang


KLUANG: A tragic road accident in Lorong Mohd Salim 1, Kampung Melayu, has claimed the life of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh reported that the accident occurred on Saturday (Feb 8) at 2.15pm.

The victim, identified as Siti Aisyah Harun, 32, lost control of her car, which crashed into a roadside house fence.

Emergency responders transported Siti Aisyah and her 28-year-old passenger to Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Kluang.

Despite receiving medical treatment, her 35-week-old unborn child was declared stillborn at 8pm on the same day.

Tragically, on Feb 9 at 1.59pm, Siti Aisyah succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The passenger suffered minor injuries to her left arm and forehead, while the deceased sustained intra-abdominal bleeding with pancreatic and liver injuries.

Authorities are investigating the incident and urge drivers to remain vigilant and cautious on the road to prevent further accidents.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
