KOTA KINABALU: Marine police foiled a smuggling attempt involving subsidised diesel worth over RM1.2mil from a fuel depot in Inanam near here, Monday.

Sabah Marine police commander Asst Comm Nazri Ibrahim said in the noon raid dubbed Ops Taring Landai, officials also nabbed six men after seizing some 102,300 litres of subsidised diesel.

“There were trucks confiscated as well, making the total seized value of around RM1.239mil,” he said in a statement, Tuesday (Feb 4).

He said during the raid, marine personnel found unauthorised storage of subsidised diesel, with the premise operators unable to produce any documents supporting the activity.

ACP Nazri said the six men believed to be in their 20s and 50s were nabbed on the premises.
