Revisiting Teoh Beng Hock: Fireman used to act out possible scenarios

SHAH ALAM: A firefighter with the same body type as Teoh Beng Hock was used to emulate different possible scenarios that led to his death.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, when met at the scene on Tuesday (Feb 4), said that several possible situations were tested to see the possibility of it happening during the time of death.

“This includes if he fell on his own or if he was forced to jump. We wanted to see if it was possible or not from that window.

“The test was to confirm if it could happen in different situations,” he said.

He said that the current scene was now a storeroom for a furniture shop.

“We used equipment that we did not have 15 years ago and forensics has tried to reconstruct the crime scene in 3D. You have to give us time for the renders to be completed; perhaps in a week or two,” he said.

A drone was also used to capture the surrounding area.

Investigations also showed that the area was still not commonly accessed by the public.

A total of five witnesses have been called back with more to follow.

“In total, there should be around 40 witnesses or so and we have already called five. We are studying the list to see who is next and who can assist us the quickest.

“Roughly speaking, there are also those that we might not be able to find. For example, if they had returned to their home country,” he said.

In Nov 2024, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered the police to complete its investigation into the death of Teoh Beng Hock, who died 15 years ago, within six months.
