KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price for Diesel will go up by 5sen per litre while the retail prices for RON 97 and RON 95 Petrol remain the same from Jan 30-Feb 5.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 29), said the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia would go up by 5sen from RM3.13 to RM3.18 per litre but remains at RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

The prices of RON 97 and RON95 petrol remain unchanged at RM2.05 per litre and RM3.43 per litre, respectively.

It said that the price for diesel remained lower compared to the floating price of RM3.35 pre litre on 10 June 2024 and is lower than the current global market price.

It said the prices were fixed based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products, using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," it added.
