Woman survives crash-and-burn in North Perak traffic mishap


IPOH: A 28-year-old woman escaped with minor injuries after the car she was driving in crashed and burst into flames at Jalan Lenggong-Gerik near Kampung Baru Air Kala.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim suffered some burns and was sent to a clinic in an ambulance during the 8.30am incident on Monday (Jan 6).

Sabarodzi said the woman is believed to have lost control of the car before it crashed to the side of the road.

"She managed to get out of the car before firemen arrived," he said in a statement.

"The car has been destroyed in the fire," he said, adding that the operation ended at 9.20am.
