Smooth start to SPM in Penang


BALIK PULAU: The first day of written examinations for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2024 started smoothly in Penang.

State education director Wan Sajiri Wan Hassan said a total of 19,255 SPM candidates are sitting for the exam at 155 designated examination centres in the state.

"1,738 exam invigilators have been appointed to ensure that the exams are conducted smoothly," he said during a press conference at SMK Pondok Upeh.

Earlier, Sajiri spent about 30 minutes welcoming candidates at the exam hall and monitoring the beginning of the exam.

A total of 402,956 candidates will take their written examinations from Jan 2 to Feb 6 nationwide.
