KLCC LRT station temporarily closes due to electrical fire


KUALA LUMPUR: The KLCC LRT station has been temporarily closed due to electrical fire.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohamed Azimin Mohamed Zahid said A distress call was received at about 4.15pm on Thursday (Jan 2).

"Seven firemen were deployed to the scene. We discovered an electrical panel caught fire but it was put out by the KLCC emergency response team before we arrived," he said in a statement on Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no one was hurt during the incident.

Meanwhile, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the KLCC station had been temporarily closed.

"Passengers are advised to go to the Persiaran KLCC and Ampang Park stations to resume their journeys.

"Free shuttle buses are provided at the Ampang Park, KLCC and Dang Wangi stations.

"We hope everyone remains calm and heeds instructions from station workers.

"Refer to Rapid KL social media and PULSE app for the latest information," it said.
