Floods: SPM students from Beluran village taken to school by boat


KOTA KINABALU: Six students had to go to school by boat after their village in Beluran was hit by floods early Tuesday (Dec 31).

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement that four of the six were sitting for the SPM examination.

Firemen said they received a distress call about the incident at Kampung Memanjang, Ladang Ah San Beluran at 7.29am.

They arrived at the village at 8.32am and took the students to school by boat.

The department said no other incidents were reported, adding that its personnel will be on standby to monitor the situation.
