Mother, toddler killed in West Coast Expressway accident


IPOH: A mother and her two-year-old child have died in a crash at KM212 of the West Coast Expressway in Manjung.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad says the accident occurred on Thursday (Dec 26) at about 5.15am.

Nor Fadhilah Mohd Azlan, 24, and her son died on the spot.

The injured included her husband Mohammad Shuqur Ahmad, 24, their three-year-old son, and two others.

Ahmad Aizat Khalid Abd Manan, 27, and Mohammad Iqbal Tamsir, 31, were in a different car.

"Those who were injured have been sent to the Manjung Hospital for treatment," Sabarodzi said.

"The deceased were handed over to the police for the next course of action," he added.

The rescue operation ended at about 7.10am.
