RON97 up by three sen, RON 95 and diesel unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON97 petrol has increased by three sen per litre, from RM3.22 to RM3.25 for the period from Dec 26, 2024 to Jan 1, 2025.

The retail price of RON95 petrol for the same period remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre.

The Finance Ministry stated that the retail price of diesel would remain at RM2.95 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

The prices are determined based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," it added in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 25).
