PETALING JAYA: The public auction of items belonging to actress Rozita Che Wan, also known as Che Ta, has been postponed to a date that will be announced later.

A source from the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) announced the postponement but did not provide a reason for it.

"I understand that the auction of Che Ta’s items today (Tuesday) has been postponed. I have no further information about it (why the event was postponed)," the source told Sinar Harian on Tuesday (Dec 24).

The auction, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday (Dec 24), involved 34 items estimated to be worth RM902,012.46, including a Haval vehicle.

In addition to vehicles, several electronic items belonging to Che Ta were to be auctioned, such as a refrigerator, air conditioner, microwave oven, washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner, and television.

Mara's legal department was previously in the process of filing for bankruptcy against Che Ta and her eldest son Ammar Effendy, who failed to repay a loan of almost RM1mil since 2017.

The move was a follow-up procedure carried out against the celebrity after she failed to settle her debt over a period of seven years, despite Mara's various efforts to recover the money, including taking the case to court.
