Four arrested for assault and robbery in Seri Iskandar, Perak


IPOH: Police have arrested four individuals suspected of assaulting a man and stealing his mobile phone in Seri Iskandar, Perak Tengah.

Perak Tengah OCPD Superintendent Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said the four men, aged between 27 and 35, were tracked down and arrested in Ipoh on Saturday (Dec 21) at about 11.40pm.

"We received a report from the victim at about 10.05am on the same day.

"The victim was with some friends at an eatery in Seri Iskandar when the suspects approached them at about 5am," he said when contacted.

"The suspects beat and injured him with a metal rod before fleeing with the mobile phone," he said.

Supt Hafezul Helmi stated that the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt during a robbery.

"Those arrested are being remanded at the Ipoh Sentral police station for five days until Dec 26.

"We urge those with information about the incident to contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Zulkarnain Jusoh at 013-974 0294," he added.
