Fight over currency exchange cheating leaves one seriously injured, six arrested

PETALING JAYA: A fight over alleged cheating involving a currency exchange transaction has left one man with serious injuries to the head.

Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, in a statement Friday (Dec 20), said that a doctor at the Banting Hospital had informed the police of a patient who was brought in with serious head injuries.

He added that six suspects aged between 25 and 53 years old were arrested at around 2.30am on Friday.

"Arrests were made within the Kuala Langat and Kuala Lumpur areas. The motive has been determined to be cheating involved in the exchange of US dollars into Chinese currency.

"It is believed that the victim had been beaten with blunt and wooden objects," he said.

He also denied that the matter was due to relationship matters as alleged in a short video that showed the scuffle at an unspecified eatery.
