Floods: Anwar extends donations to 50 households in Tangkak


TANGKAK: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday (Dec 9) donated flood relief aid to 50 households affected by floods in Tangkak.

The donations were presented by the Prime Minister's Special Tasks Officer, M Shanmugam, at the flood relief centre at the Penghulu Long multi-purpose hall.

Shanmugam, when met by reporters, said that the donations were meant to ease the burden of flood victims affected by the disaster.

"We are extending the donations to those in need, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, in line with the concept of Malaysia Madani.

"We will continue these efforts in all flood-hit areas with the cooperation of federal and state government agencies," he said, adding that the donations included food kits and blankets.

Also present were Tangkak District Land Administrator, Ab Rahman Mohamed@Ismail, and Chairman of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), Lt Gen (Rtd) Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal.

The donations today were also made possible with the cooperation of the Department of Community Communications (J-KOM) and SKM. - Bernama
