Actress Zahnita's husband arrested following allegations of domestic violence

PETALING JAYA: Actress Zahnita Wilson's husband has been arrested following allegations of domestic violence.

According to Sinar Harian, Kuantan OCPD Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu confirmed the arrest of the former model's husband on Monday (Dec 2).

"The case will be investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code (for criminal intimidation) and the man involved will be brought to court tomorrow for a remand order," he said.

Zahnita, full name Zahnita Dorothy Hussein Wilson, shocked her fans when she revealed her bruised face and black eye on Instagram.

She said that she refused to remain silent any longer and that she had to reveal the matter to the public and thus answer many questions about why she often wore sunglasses.

“I didn’t want to do this, but I had to. This is the reason why I left my old house and also the reason why I always wear sunglasses,” she wrote.

Two days before making the shocking revelation, the 39-year-old woman shared about her move to a location to manage the pie business she has been running for the past few months.

Meanwhile, a source close to Zahnita who declined to be identified informed that the actress who once starred in the movie Kuliah Cinta was in a sad and depressed state.

"There was an incident this morning (Monday) that made Zahnita determined to reveal the violence allegedly committed by her husband.

"If we follow it, this is not the first incident, but before Zahnita chose to keep her mouth shut so that her family members did not even know," the source told Sinar Harian.

The source added that they were informed that Zahnita's husband had been arrested by the authorities and that Zahinta woman would have to go to the police station to give a statement.

"Zahnita was informed that her eldest son had also been called to assist in the investigation and that she was anxious to meet her three children because she was only able to bring her youngest son to move two days ago.

"Let's all pray that everything will be made easier for Zahnita," added the source.

Previously, the mixed-blooded Malay-New Zealand celebrity had filed for divorce from her husband at the Shah Alam Syariah Lower Court, Selangor in 2013.

However, the marriage was saved and their relationship was restored.

The couple, who married in 2005, are blessed with four children, Zahrafeena, Zasharayna, Zahlia and Zayden.
