Public urged to use public transport for two years of Madani govt programme at KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public attending the Two Years of Madani Government Programme (2TM) and the 2024 National Convention on Public Service Reform at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) starting Friday are advised to use public transport to avoid traffic congestion.

The Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (Pacu), in a Facebook post, also advised visitors to use the PULSE App to locate bus stops along routes to the event venue.

Meanwhile, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, in a statement said the frequency of selected Rapid KL train and bus services would be increased from Friday (Nov 22) to facilitate travel to the event.

It said that the 2TM event venue is accessible via Rapid KL-operated rail and bus services, including the KLCC LRT Station (Kelana Jaya Line), Persiaran KLCC MRT Station (Putrajaya Line) and Raja Chulan Monorail Station.

"The frequency of trains on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line and Putrajaya MRT Line will be increased to every three and five minutes from 10am to 3pm on Saturday (Nov 23). This step will provide greater capacity and comfort for visitors,” the statement read.

For bus services, Prasarana said Rapid KL would deploy additional buses to increase the frequency on Routes 300 (Pandan Indah-Lebuh Ampang), 303 (Taman Mulia Jaya-Lebuh Ampang) and 402 (Titiwangsa-KLCC).

Visitors are encouraged to use the Park N Ride facility at selected rail stations, using the same Touch ‘N Go card to enjoy flat-rate parking fees.

"Rapid KL has also increased the number of auxiliary police personnel and operational staff at key rail stations and the KLCC bus hub to ensure excellent service and passenger safety,” the statement added.

The three-day event, running from 8am to 6pm daily until Sunday (Nov 24), aims to enhance public understanding of Madani Government initiatives and public service reforms directly benefiting the people under the Unity Government.

There will be various activities at ministry and agency booths, as well as the Jualan Rahmah Madani offering discounts of up to 30% and showcases of local entrepreneur products presented by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry.

With the theme ‘Madani di Hati, Rakyat Disantuni’, the programme, expected to draw over 20,000 visitors, will be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at 11am on Saturday. - Bernama
