Malaysian Embassy donates 50 copies of the Quran to a mosque in Peru, says Nurul Izzah

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Embassy has donated 50 copies of the Al-Quran with Spanish translation to a mosque in Peru, says Nurul Izzah Anwar.

“I am representing my mother (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail), who is recovering, to visit our fellow Muslims at the mosque that is the focus of Muslims in Peru, Mezquita de Magdalena del Mar,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

She added that the Mosque was presided over by a Muslim from Palestine, and the Imam from Egypt delivered his sermon in Spanish.

Nurul Izzah said that the mosque is in the process of constructing a school for Muslim students and teaching Arabic to anyone interested, regardless of religion.

She also said that the Malaysian Embassy would organise religious classes there in the future.
