Thunderstorm, strong winds expected in KL and seven states, says MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak until 3pm on Saturday (Nov 9).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 12.50 today of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Sarawak as well as in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

The areas that are expected to be affected are Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman Terengganu; Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang; Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang in Selangor; Tampin in Negri Sembilan; Melaka; Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru in Johor.

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak - Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song) and Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu).
