Three badly hurt after double-decker bus hits divider on NSE near Ipoh


IPOH: Three people were badly injured while 31 others sustained light injuries after the double-decker bus they were in crashed into a divider at KM273 southbound on the North-South Expressway near here.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said three passengers on the lower deck were trapped between seats after the 1.10am incident on Monday (Sept 16).

"All three were rescued and sent to a hospital.

"The 30 other passengers seated on the upper level of the bus and the driver all sustained light injuries.

"They managed to alight from the vehicle on their own and received treatment from medical personnel," he said, adding that the operation ended at 2.45am.
