Bread products by Global Ikhwan Utara do not have halal certification, says Jakim

SHAH ALAM: Bread products produced by Global Ikhwan Utara do not have halal certification from the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim).

In a statement, Jakim said a check done via the Malaysian Halal Portal revealed that the bread products sold by the bakery do not possess a valid halal certification.

Jakim said the department viewed the matter seriously which saw many queries from the public about the products.

“This violates the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 under paragraph 4(1) of the Trade Descriptions (Halal Certification and Marking) Order 2011,” the statement added.
