Accused of assaulting baby girl


KUALA LUMPUR: A 20-year-old student pleaded not guilty to committing physical sexual assault on a 10-month-old baby girl his mother was babysitting, Bernama reported.

He was alleged to have committed the offence at a house in Dang Wangi here at 10am on July 31.

The charge, under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, provides for a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction.

Sessions Court judge Mohd Kafli Che Ali granted the accused RM6,000 bail and ordered him not to intimidate witnesses.
