Top officers of HRD Corp spotted in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Several top officers believed to be from HRD Corp were spotted in Parliament on Wednesday (July 10).

One of them, HRD Corp's chief legal officer Merle Fernandez, was seen leaving the Parliament building together with other officers.

They were later seen leaving in the official vehicle of the company at about 1.30pm.

The group was believed to have attended a meeting with Human Resources Minister Steven Sim earlier.

There were many media personnel in the lobby of the MP's block in anticipation of their presence.

Earlier in the Dewan Rakyat, Sim said no one would be shielded from justice if the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and independent auditor found questionable practices involving the HRD Corp.

The minister said he took a serious view of the findings by the Public Accounts Committee and the Auditor-General and that the ministry had taken swift steps to address them.
