Roadblock inspection lead to discovery of vehicle linked to robbery in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: An inspection at a roadblock led to the discovery of a vehicle linked to robbery cases.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail, in a statement on Thursday (July 4), said that the roadblock on Wednesday (July 3) in Jalan Putra led to the inspection of a sedan car and a 48-year-old Indonesian man.

"Checks showed that the driver did not possess a valid driving licence. Further investigations showed that the vehicle had been flagged as wanted due to a report from the Pandan Indah police station for gang robbery.

"The driver and his vehicle were then brought to the Ampang Jaya Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department for further investigation, "he said.

The suspect and vehicle have since been handed over to the district Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
