Lamborghini driver dies after car bursts into flames

BENTONG: A luxury sports car driver was killed after his Lamborghini crashed into a drain and burst into flames.

A female passenger was helped out of the burning vehicle by members of the public and sent to hospital by a motorist.

The Fire and Rescue Department said the car crashed along KM57.1 of Jalan Bentong-Karak in Bentong at 9am yesterday.

It said the male driver was pinned in the car and died at the scene.

“Another victim suffered injuries and was sent to the hospital by members of the public,” the department said on its official Facebook page.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ismail Abdul Ghani said the department received a distress call on the incident at 9.06am.

Eight members of the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the location about 26km away in two fire engines.

Ismail said two hoses from the fire engines were used to douse the flames before the driver’s body was extracted from the wreck.
