KLIA shooting: Kelantan court sets Aug 11 for next mention of firearms case

KOTA BARU: The Sessions Court here has set Aug 11 for the next mention of the case involving Hafizul Hawari, a tour agency manager charged with seven firearm-related offences.

Judge Zulkifli Abdullah set the date for case management and to review the status of Hafizul's application to transfer the case to the Sepang Sessions Court.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Faiz Fitri Mohamad represented the prosecution.

Lawyer Nik Mohd Faris Syazwan Zainuzzaman, representing the accused, noted that the proceedings on Sunday (June 30) were for the mention of the case and said the defence has yet to receive a decision on the transfer application.

Nik Mohd Faris Syazwan applied to transfer the case to the Sepang Sessions Court, as Hafizul faces additional charges in Selangor, including attempted murder.

He further stated that the accused is currently remanded at Sungai Buloh Prison, and the defence awaits the transfer of the case to the Sepang Sessions Court in Selangor. - Bernama
