100,000 received RM200 cash aid to offset diesel price increase, says Finance Minister II

PETALING JAYA: The Finance Ministry has approved 100,000 applications for the monthly RM200 Budi Madani cash assistance under the diesel subsidy rationalisation as of Wednesday.

The Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said that the applications included individual diesel vehicle owners (Budi Individu), as well as farmers and small planters (Budi Agri-Komoditi).

In a statement issued by the Finance Ministry on Wednesday (June 19), Amir Hamzah said that as of June 10, 30,000 applicants have received their payments, followed by another 46,000 on June 19.

“For those who apply before June, they will get their payments in early July.

“Those who are eligible will get their RM200 assistance monthly through their bank accounts or may get their cash from Bank Simpanan Nasional.

“The reason for the diesel subsidy rationalisation is to target the assistance to those eligible and the communities who need it.

“The RM200 monthly cash assistance is to help with the extra expenditure of more than 80% of eligible diesel vehicle owners.

“I call upon eligible Malaysians to quickly register to get the diesel subsidy rationalisation cash assistance in June. The government is committed to start the payment in the month the application is made,” said Amir Hamzah.

The Budi Madani initiative started on May 28 is a platform to distribute cash assistance to privately-owned diesel vehicle owners who are eligible.

Applicants can check the status of their applications at https://budimadani.gov.my.

“For those whose applications have not been approved, they may file appeals on the site itself.

“Farmers and small planters are requested to apply under the relevant ministries. For appeals, they can use the Budimadani website.
