Two men escape separate road accidents in Sabah


KOTA KINABALU: A man managed to crawl out of his car after it overturned in an accident at KM17 of the Lahad Datu-Tawau road on Wednesday (June 5) night.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department Senior Assistant Fire Comm Mohd Ishak Amran said a team of nine men was dispatched to scene after receiving the distress call at 11.02pm.

“Our team arrived at the scene about 20km away from the station at 11.23pm. The victim was given initial treatment at the scene before he was sent to the Lahad Datu hospital for further medical attention,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 11.45pm.

It is learnt that the 47-year-old victim had lost control of his car before it overturned by the roadside.

Meanwhile, firemen rescued a man trapped in a car in another accident along Jalan Mahkamah here in the early hours of Thursday (June 6) morning

Mohd Ishak said a team of nine men arrived at the scene six minutes after receiving the emergency call at 3.29am.

“The initial investigation showed that the victim had lost control of his vehicle before veering to the roadside,” he said, adding the operation ended at 4.10am.
