Foreigner arrested over alleged molestation of two-year-old girl


KUALA LUMPUR: A 34-year-old foreigner has been arrested by the police for allegedly molesting a two-year-old girl.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said in a statement on Sunday (May 26) that the victim's mother had lodged a report stating that her daughter had told her of the incident on Monday (May 20).

The report stated that the victim was playing near the Pandan Indah food court - which is where the complainant worked - at the time of the alleged incident.

ACP Mohd Azam said that following a medical check, a 34-year-old Indian national was arrested in Pandan Indah.

"(The accused) is a server at the food court," he said.

The suspect tested negative for drugs and has no prior cases in his police record.

ACP Mohd Azam added that the man has been remanded until May 28.
