HONG KONG actress Jessica Hsuan showed her warm and personal side when she celebrated the birthday of the woman who helped bring her up.

Hsuan posted on her Instagram account a photo of her with her family caretaker known as Ying Je (Sister Ying), who turned 101 on May 20.

“Can never thank Ying Je enough for loving and raising me. Not sure how I would have turned out without her,” she said.

Her post garnered many positive responses from her followers.> Sin Chew Daily reported that Taiwanese actor Ethan Juan stopped all work after his mother passed away on May 21.

The report said that in March, the 41-year-old actor had taken time off to care for his ailing mother in hospital.

Juan has been known in the entertainment circle as being a filial son. He is reportedly very close to his mother, younger brother and grandparents.

He said earlier that he was fortunate to have spent a great deal of time with his mother and grandparents when his work was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic three years ago.

Juan’s manager confirmed the news and requested privacy during this difficult time.

Coincidentally, Juan lost his mother on the same day he won the Best Male Actor award in the Taiwan Film Critics Society Awards for the film The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon.
