GEORGE TOWN: Flowers are used a lot by Buddhist devotees as an offering when they perform prayers for special occasions at temples.

With Wesak Day celebrations to be held on May 22 and the eve on May 21, florists are going to great lengths to maintain the freshness of their blooms so that devotees do not end up offering flowers that are beginning to wilt.
