PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet has congratulated Lawrence Wong on his appointment as Singapore’s new Prime Minister.
Government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said the Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday had issued a congratulatory message to the republic’s incoming prime minister.
“The Cabinet wishes Lawrence Wong congratulations on his appointment,” said Fahmi.
Wong, who took his oath of office last night, succeeded Lee Hsien Loong, who had served as premier since 2004.
